Monroe is a town in Orange County, in New York's Hudson Valley region, home to about 21,500 people as of the 2020 census.
How Monroe works

The Town of Monroe is a general-purpose local government. Its incorporated villages include Harriman, Monroe. A village resident remains a town resident and taxpayer, while the village may add its own government, services, and tax line.
