The short version
New York Porch is the name of this website. The website is published and operated by Emma Rose Holdings LLC; it is not a separate legal entity. You can read the site and use its tools without creating an account or giving us your name, phone number, or street address. We collect limited information to deliver, secure, measure, and improve the site. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for cross-site behavioral advertising.
Information processed when you visit
Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process ordinary request information such as an IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or device details, referring page, and security signals. This information is used to deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and protect the service.
New York Porch uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages people visit and whether those pages load well. Its reports may include total visits and page views, page paths, referring sites, broad country and device details, and page-speed measurements such as Core Web Vitals. Cloudflare says this service does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint individual readers, and does not log URL query strings. Calculator entries, comparison choices, search words, feedback messages, and email addresses are not sent to this service. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics overview and FAQ.
New York Porch also counts a small set of useful actions: opening a search result, getting no search result, using a calculator, following an official source, moving to a place or county page, and opening or sending feedback. These counts contain only the action name, the current page path, and a broad type such as place or guide. They do not include raw search words, calculator entries or results, comparison choices, feedback messages, email addresses, URL query strings, cookies, account IDs, or visitor identifiers. This signal does not run when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is enabled in the browser.
Tools and searches
Calculator inputs, comparison choices, and searches are processed in your browser. We do not ask you to submit a name, account number, exact property address, or private document to use those tools. Ordinary hosting and analytics records may still show that a page or static data file was requested.
Feedback
If you send feedback, we receive the note type, message, optional reply email, page title and address, content type, and submission time. Your email is used to respond to that note, not to place you on a marketing list. When you open or begin using the feedback form, Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser, device, and connection signals to check for automated abuse. We create a one-way hash of the connection IP address for short-term rate limiting; that hash is not included in the delivered feedback.
Do not send Social Security numbers, account or card numbers, passwords, medical records, tax returns, legal documents, or other confidential or sensitive information. Feedback is for correcting and improving the public site, not for private advice or representation.
How we use information
We use limited information to:
- deliver and secure the site;
- prevent spam, fraud, and technical abuse;
- answer feedback when a reply address is provided;
- investigate corrections, broken links, and accessibility reports;
- understand aggregate traffic and improve useful paths; and
- comply with law, protect rights, or respond to valid legal process.
Service providers and disclosure
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site, provides Turnstile, and provides privacy-focused web analytics. Resend delivers feedback email. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their systems may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate.
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect the site or another person, investigate misuse, or complete a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the business. We do not publish a feedback sender's email address.
Retention
Feedback stored in our optional Cloudflare inbox is configured to expire after 180 days. A feedback email may remain in the receiving mailbox until it is removed under our retention process. We aim to delete ordinary feedback messages and reply addresses from active systems within 180 days after the issue is closed or the last contact, unless a longer period is reasonably needed for security, legal compliance, a dispute, or documenting a material correction. We may keep a nonpersonal record of the correction.
Short-term rate-limit records expire after minutes. Hosting, security, provider logs, and backups follow the provider's retention cycles and may persist longer where needed for security or legal obligations.
Cookies and browser choices
New York Porch does not set advertising cookies. Turnstile may use limited browser storage or cookies as described by Cloudflare when needed for security. You can use browser controls to clear site data or block scripts, though blocking Turnstile will prevent feedback from being submitted.
Children and teenagers
The site is a general-audience directory and is not primarily directed to minors under 18. We do not ask a visitor's age. If you are under 18, do not put your age, email address, or other personal details in feedback; ask a parent or guardian to send the note instead.
If we learn that feedback contains personal information from a minor, we will use it only as reasonably needed to handle the site issue, protect the service, or comply with law, and will delete the personal details as soon as reasonably practicable. A parent or guardian may use the feedback form to request deletion.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards suited to the limited information we collect, including transport encryption, anti-automation checks, rate limiting, restricted service accounts, and data minimization. No internet service can promise absolute security. Please do not send information the site does not need.
Your choices and requests
Providing an email with feedback is optional. You may ask whether we hold feedback associated with your email or ask us to correct or delete it, subject to identity verification and legal exceptions. Use the feedback form, select Privacy, accessibility, or rights, and include the same optional reply address if we need to locate an earlier message. We will use the information in the request only to verify and respond to it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site or its providers change. We will post the revised policy here and change the date at the top. Send privacy questions through the feedback form.
