Orange Property-Tax Routing Starts With the Calendar

Orange County taxpayers should separate parcel lookup, local collection, city taxes, and delinquent-tax questions.

Orange County property-tax work has several doors. The county parcel page points users to Image Mate for searches by owner, address, tax map number, or municipality. Town, county, and special-district bills are mailed by towns. School bills and village bills have their own collection windows.

The taxpayer page adds an important city caveat: Middletown, Newburgh, and Port Jervis city taxes are not collected or enforced by the county. Before acting on a bill, check the parcel, municipality, tax type, bill year, current collector, and whether the question is current collection or past-due enforcement. Keep the parcel result, bill, office answer, and payment receipt together.
