If the vehicle is not registered in Long Beach, the city asks for a lease or property tax bill showing the Long Beach address in the registrant’s name, along with the registration.

City records list a $50 per vehicle fee and no refunds. The 2026 notice says resident permits may be purchased at the Clerk’s office in City Hall room 307 or by mail.

Before making the trip, put the registration, proof of residency, and payment details in one folder. If a lease, tax bill, or vehicle registration uses a different name or address, sort that out before standing at the counter.
