Huntington tax payments belong on the Receiver's official page

Huntington owners should use the Receiver of Taxes pages before making a property-tax payment plan. The town’s Receiver page says the office administers property-tax collection, lists two installment due dates, gives the Town Hall mailing route, and explains that after May 31 taxes become delinquent and payments go to the Suffolk County Comptroller. The online-payment page adds current payment methods, fees, portal timing, and a postmark warning.

That combination is a good reason to avoid guessing from an old reminder, escrow statement, lender note, or search result. The point is not to memorize dates; it is to check the current official route before acting.

Before paying, confirm the bill number, tax year, amount, deadline, and accepted route on the town’s official pages. If mailing close to a deadline, read the postmark warning carefully. If the town portal is closed for the year, ask the Receiver or Suffolk County Comptroller which route now applies before sending money. Keep the receipt with the bill and confirmation.
