Genesee pistol permits have a Clerk office and a State Police lane

Genesee County pistol-permit questions split into two lanes. The local Pistol Permit Office is in the County Clerk’s Office at 15 Main Street in Batavia. Recertification is different. The county sends those questions to State Police, not the County Clerk.

That split helps a Batavia resident, a Le Roy mover, a Darien farm family, or someone in Pembroke, Bergen, Byron, or Oakfield ask a cleaner question.
