Columbia County’s Hudson DMV is not an appointment maze. The counter is at 560 Warren Street in Hudson, and walk-ins are welcome without an appointment. That is good news, but the clock still matters.
Regular DMV hours run Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:45, with Thursday open later until 6:45. Plan to arrive at least half an hour before closing so there is time for processing. For a title, registration, plate, license, or permit errand, that half hour can be the line between a same-day counter visit and a return trip.
Treat Thursday evening as breathing room, not a reason to cut it close. A small folder helps: license or ID, proof documents, plate number, insurance card if needed, payment, and the transaction you are actually trying to finish. If the errand involves another person in the household, put their documents in a separate sleeve so the counter visit does not turn into a paper shuffle.
Hudson is a county-seat errand town already, so pairing DMV with another Warren Street stop can work. Just do the DMV math early: office, day, closing time, processing buffer, and one extra minute to make sure the right papers are in the car.
